Striking a Ball in Tennis
Striking a ball in tennis is when you use your tennis racket to hit the
ball over the net in a game or just getting the ball to move.
The more force that is put in the hit the further it goes, and the less
force the shorter it will go.
How to Strike The Ball Using The
Forehand Stroke
1. Get in proper body position. In order to hit a
forehand, you first need to get into the proper
positioning.
2. Prepare to swing your racket. Keep your head
straight and your shoulders parallel to the net.
3. As the ball approaches, reposition your
shoulders into a 90-degree angle to the net and
extending your opposite arm across your body.
4. Extend your racket arm backward as the ball
comes toward you.
5. Shift your weight to your back leg, and point that
foot toward the sideline.
Different Ways to Hit a Ball in
Tennis
Forehand: The tennis forehand is a stroke in which the inner side of the
palm of the dominant hand that is holding the racket faces forward
Backhand: The backhand is a tennis shot in which one swings the racket
around one's body with the back of the hand preceding the palm.
