Figa Presenatation Final1

The document summarizes geological field observations along the Pandoh Syncline in Himachal Pradesh, India. It finds that the southern and northern limbs of the Pandoh Syncline reached garnet-grade metamorphism, while the core remained at lower biotite-grade metamorphism. It also determined that the structure underwent two phases of metamorphism and deformation during the Himalayan orogeny. Finally, it concludes that the Pandoh Syncline is the southern extension of the Kulu Thrust sheet.

Pandoh syncline Result
Based on our field studies suggest that the southern and northern limbs
of the Pandoh syncline reached up to garnet-grade of metamorphism
and the core part remains low-grade metamorphism (i.e. biotite grade).

In both limbs of the synclinal structure, the garnet crystal size varies
from 0.5 mm to 5 mm. It also suggests that the syncline structure has
undergone two different phases of metamorphism and deformation
during the Himalayan orogeny.

It is envisaged that the Pandoh Syncline is the southern extension of

the Kulu Thrust sheet.
