Changes in education through information Age technology

The impact of information age technology on every aspect of


people’s lives is through the birth of:
1. internet
2. the world wide web
3. the development of information technology
4. the wide- scale production of computers
5. the development of user-friendly software

Today, students, clients and staff have a world of informations at


their fingertips through internet and computers.
Define the following terms
Information age- the present period of time in which sweeping advances in
computer and information technology have transformed the economic, social
and cultural life of society

internet - a huge global computer network of which the World Wide Web is a
component established to allow transfer of information from computer to
another it provides diverse range of services used to deliver information to large
numbers of people and to enable people to communicate with one another such
as via e-mail, real time chat, or electronic discussion group.
World Wide Web
a computer network of information server around the world that are connected
to the internet, it is a technology based educational resource that was created as
a virtual space for the display of information

computer literacy
the ability to use the necessary computer hardware and software to meet the
needs for information.

digital divide - the gap between those idividuals who have access for
information technology rsource for those who do not
consumer age - the period in modern history characterized by computer use
and development and its effects on all aspects of life.

blog - a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an


individual or small group that is written in an informal or conversational
style.

e-learning - or electronic learning - is the delivery of learning and training


through digital resources.

provided through electronic devices such as computers, tablets and
even cellular phones that are connected to the internet

- is a way of educating students online

1. The Internet and the World Wide Web
Internet - was origically commissioned in 1969 as a
programmed of the national defence to allow the transfer

is a virtual space to display rather than exchange in information

Web page covers a wide range of topics and displays a variety of
formats includes:

commonly used internet technology that holds great potential
for improved health communication and health education.

provide simple and efficient way to answer client questions,


follow up with clients, and reinforce client education

- What are the qualifications or credentials of the author?
