Reading Comprehension .

Breakfast is one of the daily routines which starts our busy day. However,
some people prefer to do another activity rather than to have a breakfast. The
reason is mainly about having the limited time to prepare anything before going
to school or work. However, that’s not a good idea due to several reasons.
First, breakfast can press the eating excess. When we have breakfast in the
morning, we can stabilize our metabolism. We can control the calories because
we tend not to eat a lot of calories for the entire day, such as snacking or eating
junk food. Second, breakfast provides our body and brain with fuel after an
overnight fast. Without breakfast, we will be like a machine without fuel. We will

have no energy to do our activities.

Third, it supports our cognitive function because it can restore glucose
levels, an essential carbohydrate which is needed for the brain to function. For
workers and students, it plays crucial role since they need to use their brain to
concentrate on their work and study. Last but not least, breakfast may prevent
stomach ulcer. It happens for the fact that breakfast will keep the stomach filled
with food, so it can neutralize stomach acid.
