Reasons for Blood Pressure Monitoring
The cuff is fastened around the arm with a swollen rubber bladder. A pressure gage
displays the pressure of the cuff. The blood pressure cuff is inflated by a small
portable air pump.
The air valve is used to release slowly the air pressure following the inflation of
the mango. A stethoscope is used to listen to blood flow sounds when the pressure
is released.
The pulse drives blood through the arteries that cause arterial pressure to rise and
fall. The highest pressure is called the systolic pressure and the pressure decreases.
Diastolic pressure is known as this low blood pressure point.
