About us:
Central Library, started in Jan 2013,
has got new building in 23 Feb 2017.
It spreads over 3 floors having an
area of 2687 sqm per floor with more
than 250 students seating capacity.
Now we can describe ourselves as a
future ready library, which is a new
norm for libraries in current
perspectives. This is a enhanced
model of hybrid library service. Means
we are in process of moving from a
traditional library to a place of
complete learning centers, where and
are brought together in an integrated
information service, accessed via
electronic gateways available both on
site and remotely, The direction of
Library as a worthwhile model in its
own right, which can be usefully
developed and improved.

As I already told that our vision is to develop this library as a
centre of complete integrated learning centre. Therefore our
efforts are towards creating a hybrid library based on following
concepts:
Library is every where

Library has no barriers

The library is a human centered organization

Flexible, best of breed, component best system

Ability of all five senses integrated learning centre

Library invites participation and empowerment of users

Ability to evolve and improve on a constant and rapid basis


 Tangible: Physical facilities, equipment, personnel and
communication materials/resources.
 Reliability: ability to perform the promised services
dependably and accurately.
 Responsiveness: willingness to help users and provide
prompt services.
 Assurance: Knowledge and courtesy of employees and
their ability to convey trust and confidence.
 Empathy: the caring and individualized attention given
to the users and knowing their needs.
Our Central Library is equipped with all modern infrastructure like:
i) KOHA: Fully Automated using KOHA LMS
ii)Radiofrequency identification (RFID): Complete package i.e. security gate,
automatic return Drop Box, Self issue return kiosk, Handheld scanner, RFID
Card Thermal Printer, middleware etc.
iii)MyLoft: Personalized online/offline 24*7 anywhere Library services to our
user through My Library on Finger Tips (MyLoft) App/Extension
iv)DELNET: Connected with 7000+ Library for Inter Library Loan services
v)Evidence-based clinical decision support: UpToDate, BMJ Best Practice,
Cochrane Library
vi)Course/s offered: Provide facilities for following online course :
BMJ learning: Continuing(CME/CPD or QOF points) medical education
accredited by several organizations, and offered a choice on certificate.
Research to Publication course: a course on research methodology and
publishing program by BMJ & University of California (UCSF).
vii) URKUND: Web Based Plagiarism Detection Software
viii) Photocopier cum binding section: Xerox, Printing, hard/spiral/comb
binding, Lamination ,embossing, etc. services at subsidized price

areas in 4 Parts: General/Reference, Medical, Ayush and Nursing

and can also save it
We are also under active set-up of “Seminar cum
training unit” which will act as human library. Where
clinicians, researchers, student, librarian can train/
share their ideas among our patrons. It will be equipped
with smart interaction panel with lectures
capturing/recording facilities.

students can learn by
seeing 3-D multi-media
videos, lectures,
presentations, augmented
realities applications. It
will equipped with HD
TV,3D active glasses,
wireless headphones,
Blue-ray DVD players and
multimedia contents.

is configured into a single APP which
gives the user the platform that is sensitive about professional and
personalized content over a single mobile and web app.

It enables a user to discover, access, organize and save the


subscribed e-Resources, digital content of interests seamlessly over
cross platforms any where anytime. No need to remember passwords
in login multiple times to access e-Content.

Creating a library application (“app”) or mobile Web site allows


patrons to access library hours, view their library account or even
search databases easier than most people think.
 User’s own Library: Ability to access more than one library, without
losing personal content and an opportunity to personalize their
libraries according to personal interest/preference.
 Universal Search: Ability to discover content using voice command .
 Offline Reading: Users can save content of websites, blogs, news or
institute subscribed e-resources and read them offline.
 Highlight, Listen and Sharing of Articles: Its article viewers allows
clutter-free text, highlighting, listening and sharing of content.
 Tag and Organize content: Allow tagging, bookmarking and saving of
articles of different projects
 Web-APP Synchronization: Seamless access, organize, share and
synchronize e-content between PC and Mobile.
 Chrome Extensions Facilitates: seamless and secure campus access to
Library subscribed e-resources.
 Announcement: Allows admin to convey to users through alert
 Reading Hours: Morning 9 to Night 2 O’clock.
 Circulation services: issue, return, renewal, reserve, enquiry,
technical help.
 Self service: kiosk for- issue, return, renewal & enquiry
 OPAC: Web/On Line public Access Catalogue
 Secured access of all e-resources, 24x7, anywhere, to our patrons
through MyLoft & Remote Xs.
 Identity Card - creation and issue.
 News Clipping Services
 Reference Service: E-Books, E-journals, Database, Plagiarism
analysis, Citation Management, Training.
 Browsing Internet/e-Resources/Multimedia.
 Plagiarism Detection through URKUND
 Institutional Research/Publication Management
