Group Activity

The document describes an activity where students measure how far a toy car travels when pushed with different amounts of force. Students mark a starting point and push the car gently, measuring the distance with a tape measure. They then push the car from the same starting point with stronger force and measure that distance. A data table is completed to record the type of force and distance traveled for each trial. Guide questions ask students to compare distances, identify which force made the car travel farthest/nearest, and what affected the distance traveled.

PUSH AND GO
1.Select a flat surface on the classroom floor.
2.Marj the starting point on the floor. Gently push the toy car
with your hand. Observe how far it moved. Measure the
distance travelled using the tape measure. Record your
observation.
3.Bring the toy car back to the starting point and repeat step 2,
but this time push the toy car with stronger force. Observe
how far it travelled. Measure the distance it travelled.
Record your observation on your data table.
Complete and copy the table.

Guide Questions: *Answer only in your
manila paper
1.How do you compare the distance travelled by
the toy cars when pushed by the weakest force
and when pushed by the strongest force?
2.Which degree of force applied to make the toy
car travelled the farthest? Nearest?
3.What affected the distance travelled by the toy
car?
The force applied on an object
affect the movement of an object:
The Toy car travelled farther
when the force applied was
stronger. It travelled nearer when
lesser force was applied it.
