Radicals Simplify

This document provides guidelines for simplifying radical expressions: 1) A radical is simplified when its radicand contains no perfect square factors 2) Test if the radicand can be divided by perfect squares like 4, 9, 25, etc. 3) If there is an exponent, make it even using exponent rules 3) Separate factors under the radical sign and simplify using the product property for radicals.

Simplifying Radical

Expressions
Guide in simplifying radical expression:
 A radical has been simplified when its radicand
contains no perfect square factors.
 Test to see if it can be divided by 4, then 9, then 25,
then 49, etc.
 If there is an exponent make it even by using rules of
exponents
 Separate the factors to its own square root
 Simplify
