M2 - Multiplication As Repeated Addition

Edna bought 5 pots of flowers for her mother's birthday. Each pot contained 3 flowers. To calculate the total number of flowers, the document shows that this can be done through repeated addition or multiplication. Repeated addition involves adding 3 flowers for each of the 5 pots: 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 15 flowers. This can also be shown through multiplication: 5 × 3 = 15 flowers. The document then provides examples of writing repeated addition and multiplication sentences for different scenarios and has activities for students to practice.
