SPIC MACAY - Introduction

SPIC MACAY is a non-profit organization founded in 1977 by Prof. Kiran Seth to promote Indian classical music and arts among youth. It focuses on providing educational programs rooted in schools and colleges to develop students' self-expression, spirituality, and understanding of diverse cultures. SPIC MACAY organizes performances, workshops, scholarships and other programs across India and abroad involving classical music, dance, folk arts, and more to expose youth to India's rich cultural heritage. It has grown from one city to over 350 chapters worldwide, reaching millions of students.

Feedback of a student
■ I never realized while making a poster for SPIC MACAY in the
prescribed yellow-red format that I'm learning 'branding'
strategies that would be a part of curriculum for me someday,
never did I knew that my greed/urge of learning all the craft
forms at the convention would be fascinating thing for
somebody interviewing me, or my story of learning tabla would
actually become much interesting for the jury there. I never
knew these small things would actually make such a big
difference between me and the other students.
■ I remember how you use to tell us "...things started falling into
place..." while you were attending the Dhrupad concert long
back. I can totally relate to this story that how these small things
started falling into place.
