Preparing a Project Proposal

Based on the project feasibility study,

decide on what project can best fulfill
your needs. This comes after careful
selection.
This is a systematized presentation of
data and information regarding the
project.
I.Rationale

This is an overview of the project or

program which states the reason for
undertaking the activity and describes
expectations on the outcome of the
program which will ultimately meet the
organizational goal.

Why is the Project Needed ?(Rationale)
All the major finding in the project study will
be be presented here.
The proposal will have the following
as its basic contents:
II. Name the description of the
project
This will show the project title and a
general description of the project
III. Objectives

This refers to the desired

organizational and behavioral
attributes or characteristics to
be attained in the program or
project during and after its
implementation.
Project Objective
This will define what you want to
achieve in implementing the
project.

The objective of the proposal must be

based on the feasibility that has been
studied collectively.
To ensure that objectives are
met and can be quantified or
qualified, make them:
S -pecific
M-easurable
A -ttainable
R -ealistic
T -ime-Bound
IV. Program Component of
the Project Proposal

If there are subcomponents

of the project to be
undertaken, it has to be
presented and discussed for
clarity what it wants to
accomplish.
V. Major Strategies and Activities
in the Project Implementation
Here written are the steps involved in
implementing the project towards its
objectives.
Project Implementation Needs
Needs for every activity involved in the
project implementation will be listed
here.
Who will carry Out Each Activity?
The project proposal here presents who
will be responsible for each activity. As
much as possible, all the members of the
community or beneficiaries should have
role in the project including the members
of the Team.
VI. Organization and
Management

Who will manage the project ?

who will be accountable once
the project is approved and
carried out ?
VII. Time Frame

When will the project be

carried out ?
Here will be shown the time-
table for the entire project or for
each activity – when each will start
and end.
VIII. Monitoring and Evaluation

State how will the project be monitored – an

assurance that the project will be carried as
desired
IX. Financial Requirements or
Budget Needed

This tells about the financial

requirements of the project
Follow-Up Work for the Project’s Approval

There are projects which can not be

readily implemented without the
assistance of the organization of
which you see as needed in carrying
out the project or program
A well prepared project proposal is not a
guarantee that the project will be
approved and given necessary assistance.

Follow-up is needed. Here lies the

importance of planning the follow-up
activities that will ensure the project
approval and assistance.
Planning for the Project’s Implementation

The people decided on what project

to implement. This is subsequently
approved by the agency assisting
them.
One thing should be kept in mind: The
people should never rush head-on into the
actual implementation of the project . To do
this, the people will have plan out the
pursuit of activities involved in the project
implementation.

What are the objectives of each activity?

Who will be involved in each activity?
Where will it be done? When? How? The
form outlined here can be a useful guide.
