Indeed, computer systems is made of several parts and these parts comprise of
electronic components. Thus, all electronic elements are susceptible to damage if
not properly taking care of and as a whole, computer systems is certainly test for
its functionality and among others.
In this lesson, you will understand and find out different criteria of testing
electronic components. But first, answer the following activities.
Directions: Arrange the following computer hardware into four categories namely:
Input Device, Output Device, Storage Device and Processing Device. Write your
answers on a separate sheet of paper.

Passive Components
These are the components which obstruct the current or supplied energy.
Resistor: Resistor has the characteristics to provide hindrance or
obstruction in the path of current. Resistors are generally used as current
limiter for protecting active components from breakdown.
Inductor: Inductor allows DC to pass through it and block AC. It provides
low resistance to DC while high resistance to AC. Thus, it is used in the
devices which are used in application where AC ripples are not desirable.
Besides, inductor stores energy in the form of magnetic field.
Training and teaching others. There are two main tiers of training for a
computer hardware field technician. The first is creating a best-practices
environment by offering continual training that keeps staff members up-to-date
on new developments in the IT field. The other is training users on how to correct
or prevent any problems or issues that may arise.
