CPDP Unit II

- A contributor is defined by their visions, potential to contribute, urge to contribute, and eagerness to take responsibility, not by achievements, qualifications or family name. - Contributors see themselves in terms of what they will accomplish and their commitment to the organization, while non-contributors see themselves based on past achievements and position. - A contributor's identity is dynamic and open-minded, focused on continual learning and bettering the future, rather than being defined by the past. Their vision is inner success through challenges, growth, and new capabilities rather than external factors like awards or promotions.

Revision
Who is a contributor?

• Who has both human values and functional

effectiveness.
• Who keeps the goals of the organization at
the center and remains creative.
• Leadership is a subset of contribution
• Outcome oriented.
The Contributor’s Identity
• Identity doesn’t mean family name, father’s
name, your achievement, and qualification etc.
• The contributor’s identity is his visions, his
potential to contribute, his urge to contribute
and his eagerness to take responsibilities.
• A true contributor is identified by such values.
Contributor Vs Non- contributor
• Non-contributors and Contributors define themselves differently, such
as:
– what they have acquired in life (e.g. qualifications, position, years of experience,
etc.).
– This is a static identity, based on your past glories or past failures. This static
identity leaves you trapped in history.
• Contributors define themselves in terms of:
– what they will become or accomplish (e.g. capacity to deliver, commitment and
ownership of the organization’s purpose, etc.).
– This is a dynamic identity based on your “being” and “becoming”.
– Such an identity lets you choose to live a better future.
