• Pashtun are People who live in
Southeastern Afghanistan and the
northwestern province of Pakistan.

• Between the Hindu kush in


northeastern Afganistan and the
northern stretch of the Indus River in
Pakistan.
Language
 Main Language:

• Pashto And Persian (Dari)

 varieties of Pashto:

• Northern Pashto, spoken mainly in Pakistan

• Southern Pashto, spoken mainly in Afghanistan

• Central Pashto, spoken mainly in Pakistan.


 Writing System of pasto:

• Pashto is written in the Arabic Naskh. Pashto uses all 28

letters of the Arabic alphabet, and shares 3 letters (‫ پ‬,‫چ‬, and ‫)ژ‬

with Persian in the additional letters.

 Festivals of Pakhtoons are the
best time to experience the
vibrancy of their culture in its
grandest manifestation.
 Pashtun celebrate the two major
Islamic festivals: Eid al-Fitr and
Eid al-Adha

lining that is worn in cold weather.
