GROUP TWO
• Education is one of the most important aspects of national life that must
be pursued with zeal. The greatest resource a country has is its people,
and educating a child is saving a life and ensuring a bright future for the
country. National Service Training Program (NSTP) Act of 2001 was
promulgated to meet societal demands. Now you will be asking, what is
the importance of NSTP to students in tertiary level.
• Under Republic Act No. 9163, which was approved on December 19,
2001, the National Service Training Program was established for tertiary
level students. This program went into effect on December 19, 2001. The
goal of this program is to raise awareness about the importance of kids in
nation-building, as well as to develop their physical, moral, spiritual,
intellectual, and social well-being. It will instill patriotism and nationalism
in the youth and encourage their participation in public and civic affairs.
• In order to achieve these goals, the nation's most valuable resource, the youth,
must be motivated, trained, organized, and mobilized in military training,
literacy, civic welfare, and other similar endeavors. It was affirmed in RA 9163
that the government's primary responsibility is to serve and protect its citizens.
As a result, it will be the responsibility of all people to defend the state's
security, and the government may oblige each citizen to do personal, military,
or civil service in order to do so.
• In pursuit of these goals, the youth, the most valuable resource of the nation,
shall motivated, trained organized and mobilized in military training, literacy,
civic welfare and or similar endeavors to the service of the nation. There is
hereby established a National Service Training Program (NSTP), which shall form
part of the curricula of all baccalaureate degree courses of at least two (2) year
technical-vocational courses and is a requisite for graduation, consisting of the
following components: (1) The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) which is
hereby made optional and voluntary upon the effectivity of this Act; (2) The
Literacy Training Service and; (3) The Civic Welfare Training Service.
• The NSTP is a component of the Philippine Association of State
Universities and Colleges (PASUC). The ROTC is responsible for
instilling the value of patriotism, moral values, respect for civilian
rights, and obedience to the Constitution. In all three (3) curriculum
components, citizenship training will be emphasized. Other program
components may be designed and implemented by the Coordinating
Council of Private Educational Associations of the Philippines
(COCOPEA) and other pertinent government agencies in accordance
with the requirements of this Act. Male and female students in public
and private educational institutions must complete one (1) of the
NSTP components as a requirement for graduation in any
baccalaureate degree program or two (2) year technical – vocational
program.
• Any object, activity, or state of mind that a person views to be
extremely essential in his or her life has been defined as having value.
All of our values are combined to form a value system, which exists
not just on an individual level but also at the organizational level. As a
result, the community in which NSTP students are assigned could
have a significant impact on their values change. A corporate culture
is a set of values that are shared by everyone in a certain place or
company.
• The foundation of values education is a sound philosophy of the
human being, with all of its philosophical consequences and
implications. HUMAN DIGNITY is the supreme and overarching value
that defines education.
• Health is defined as total physical health, mental soundness, and emotional
wholesomeness, all of which enable the highest level of productive life and
service.
• First Aid is the skilled provision of treatment by any trained individual to an ill
or injured person while waiting for medical assistance to come, utilizing
facilities or materials accessible at the moment. If a person suffering from a
sudden sickness or an injury is provided immediate and temporary care until a
doctor comes.
• Recreational activities are socially acceptable and socially beneficial leisure
activities that bring immediate and inherent satisfaction to the person who
actively engages in them. Listening to music and watching television are
examples of enjoyable activities with the goal of relaxing.
• Leadership one may use this term to: distinguish people in an organization or
group, ability and a relationship. It refers to those who provide direction and
guidance. It is an art of inducing subordinates to accomplish their assignments
with zeal and confidence.
• Entrepreneurship is defined as the ability to create new markets, goods, and
procedures through innovation, investment, and expansion. It refers to an
individual's ability to successfully and efficiently manage a business in order to
achieve customer satisfaction and service profitability. It recognizes opportunities
and seizes them. It is putting to good use stuff that would otherwise be thrown
away.
• All actions related to the control, transfer and transport, processing, and disposal of
solid waste in line with the best principles of public health, economics, engineering,
conservation, aesthetics, and other environmental conservation are referred to as
solid waste management. Its scope encompasses all administrative, legal, and
engineering functions related to attendance.
• There is no single, globally prescribed and acknowledged solid waste management
system approach. Every community country must develop a system that is tailored
to its needs, economy, geography and topography, social culture, and resources.
• All of the aforementioned are the benefits of students in learning NSTP ROTC,
CWTS, and LTS.
