A Quantitative Study On The Quality and The Level of Satisfaction of Using Paper Bag in Wao, Lanao Del Sur

This study sought to identify the quality and level of satisfaction of using paper bags in Wao, Lanao del Sur. The researchers surveyed 50 consumers, vendors, government employees, students, teachers, and housewives. The majority of respondents were female aged 13-18. The respondents determined that the quality of paper bags was satisfactory. There was a significant relationship found between the level of acceptability of using paper bags and policy implementation, bag description, and the respondents' age profile. The researchers concluded that the quality and use of paper bags provided an effective and satisfying shopping experience.

BACKGROUND

Plastic bag trash builds up is a major contributor to environmental
pollution, which can take many different forms. Deterioration of an
environment's natural beauty is one of the issues. Animal deaths,
both domestic and wild, are a prevalent issue related to these
pollutants. This makes preventative efforts necessary to protect
animal species from extinction. Blockages in sewage systems are
more prevalent. It is advised that the public be informed (1) not to
use plastic bags and (2) to use eco-friendly alternative materials
(bags) produced from clothing, natural fibers, and paper in order to
reduce the issues related to plastic bag wastes. Since paper bags are
thought to be a better and more environmentally responsible option
than plastic ones, smart buyers opt to use them instead of plastic
ones. Typically, plant fibers derived from fibrous cellulose resources
like rags, woods, or bark are used to make paper bags.

This study sought to identify the quality and level of satisfaction of using paper bag in
Wao, Lanao del Sur. Specifically, this study aim to answer the following questions:

2. What is the level of acceptability of using paper bag of the respondents?

Consumers. This study will benefit the consumers. As the consumers will always use paper bag as
their daily carrier bag or the wrapper of their purchased products in the dry market.

Vendors. One of the main focus of this study, to know how many streets, in a sidewalks or in a
shop that use paper bag for the wrapping of their customers purchased products. This will benefit
the vendors and will give them knowledge whether their customer are satisfied or not of using paper
bag.

Local Government Unit. This study can help them in making improvements, alterations, and come
up with new more ideas regarding the policy implementation. They can identify also if the residents
or the consumers are following the policy and whether they are satisfied with it. It will benefit them
also because they will know that the consumers are not disobeying the said policy.

School. This can help them in making this implemented to their school. Every school has a canteen
or food cafeteria which will surely use paper bag for their products. They will be conscious and
much aware that such policy of using paper exist that it supersedes the plastic bag in the dry
market. This will make the schools more clean and neat since the students would not be able to use
plastic bags.

Future Researchers. The findings of this study will help them broaden their knowledge about this
research. This study will benefit the researchers as this may be use it for their references and review
of related studies.

This study attempts to identify the quality and level
of satisfaction of using paper bag as a package tool.
This study is conducted by the researchers in the
public market of Wao, Lanao del Sur. The
respondents will be limited to fifty (50) different
consumers, vendors, government employee,
students, teachers, saleslady, and housewives. To
conduct this research, we as researchers will utilize
a survey questionnaire with a likert scale.

Based on the findings of this study, the majority of the respondents
were female and has an age of 13-18. After the gathered data from
50 respondents that came up from the public market of Wao, Lanao
del Sur, the respondents determined that the quality of the paper
bag and using it satisfy them. It has positive significant impact of
level of satisfaction and acceptability in terms of policy
implementation, bag description, and respondents profile according
to their age. The result and support the communities cleanliness and
the people likes to obey it. Therefore, the respondents concluded that
the quality and the using paper bag is effective and satisfying of
their shopping experience in Wao, Lanao Del Sur. There is a
significant relationship between level of acceptability of using paper
bag in terms of policy implementation, bag description, and
respondents profile according to their age.

Based on the research result, it is recommended that the use of paper bag must be taken
advantage of because as time pass by, people who uses it will be of great help in to the
environment and a good thing for our community. They have to make sure that they will
buy to a certain shop as this may cause conflict if they have uncertainty because many
shop do not allow retrieval of products. To the vendors they should make sure that their
products and paper bag are usable and durable so that the consumer will surely buy from
them again. To the locale government unit (LGU , they must strengthen the policy
implementation, improve and make a policy that the respondents will surely obey and the
community will benefit from it. To the School Administrators, they have to ensure that the
students and other personnels obey and use paper bags that can minimize the waste and
pollution at school.
The manufacturer of paper bag should produce high quality and durable paper bag which
will last and can be used for everyday shopping of the customers.
To the future researchers, they should invest more time and do their research productively.
Their respondents should range about 150 so that their data will be more flexible and
accurate since quantitative data utilize several data to get it properly.
