Human Flourishing

The document discusses the concept of human flourishing. It begins by defining the Greek term "eudaimonia" which was coined by Aristotle to describe the ultimate state of happiness attainable by humans. The document then explains that human flourishing arises from components like wisdom, friendship, wealth, and power. It notes that both Western and Eastern concepts of human flourishing differ, with the West focusing more on individuals and the East prioritizing community. The role of science, technology, and goal-setting in achieving human flourishing is also examined. Verification theory, which evaluates a discipline based on empirical evidence and repeatable experiments, is covered along with its limitations in fully demarcating science.
