Basic Terms

 Performance Indicator (PI) : A PI is a the compound performance counter whose result is

obtained based on arithmetic operations on common performance counters.
 Performance counter: A performance counter refers to an exact measurement item of a
measurement family.
 Measurement object(MO): a measured physical or logical entity or a combination of physical or
logical entities.
 Measurement family: used to measure different indicators of a Measurement Object (MO).
 Granularity: A granularity refers to the period of time for collecting data from NEs, for example,
fifteen minutes.
 Threshold task: Performance QoS tasks provided by the performance management function are
usually called performance threshold tasks.

Performance Management Function Overview

 The UME collects and stores the performance data of managed NEs, and the
performance management function can query the performance data of managed NEs
and generate performance statistics reports.
 Performance Management Function includes:
 Performance model management
 Performance QoS threshold tasks
 Scheduled export tasks
 Historical performance data analysis

Performance Task Management

 Performance tasks are divided into the following types:

 Basic measurement task: A basic measurement task is a data collection task that is created and
executed automatically after a managed NE or network function node is powered on.
 Customized measurement task: A customized measurement task is a data collection task that you
manually create by defining the necessary parameters.
 Data integrity check: You can check the integrity check result of the collected data, manually recollect
the data, and check the alarm threshold settings.
 Threshold Task Management: used to monitor performance data by using the defined time, granularity,
location, and threshold KPI. If performance data exceeds the threshold, an alarm is raised.
