A SURVEY ABOUT THE PREFERRED CAREER

CHOICE OF GRADE 12 EPAS STUDENTS IN


MOLUGAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL.
SY 2022 – 2023
•BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

• Career choice is one of the biggest decisions for every
student in crafting their future. It determines the kind of
profession that they intend to pursue. This choice affects
them throughout their lives. Moreover, this aspect of their
live of choosing and deciding a career have consequences
and considerations.

Students will have to mull over matching their career
choice with their abilities and interests. According to
( Kerke 200 ) career choice is influenced by multiple
factors including personality, Interest, Self-concept,
Cultural identity, Globalization, Socialization, Role model,
Social support and available resources such as information
and financial elements.


Furthermore, Factors influencing career choice can
be either intrinsic or extrinsic of both ( Hewitt 2010 ) In
taking a Career path, one of life’s major decisions will be
involved. According to Boyer “ the shape and excellence
of Students, life may rest on the result. The result of
what they chose can either help them or will hinder their
future.
The department of education has made the
historic implementation of shifting from a 10-year
basic education curriculum to the kinder to 12
programs ( k – 12 ) in phase. The added two–year
Senior High School years equip students with
knowledge and skills that will help them prepare
better for their chosen path.
As a part of the program, We were conducting
Surveys to determine the preferred career choices of Grade
12 ( EPAS ). This survey is an important part of the
school’s efforts to provide students with the necessary
information to make informed decisions about their future
career paths.
The results of the survey will be used to improve the
school’s career guidance program and to provide students
with the necessary support to achieve their career goals.
The study will use a quantitative research approach to
analyze the data collected from the Survey. The Survey will
be conducted using a questionnaire that will be distributed
to grade 12 ( EPAS ) Students in Molugan National High
School.

In conclusion, this Survey on the preferred career


choice of Grade 12 EPAS Students in Molugan National
High School is essential to provide a better understanding of
the factors that influence the career choices of Students.
The result of the survey can help school
administrators. Improve the career guidance program
and provide students with information and support to
make informed decisions about their future careers.
The study will help to understand the career that we
can choose in college.

3. Why does Grade 12 EPAS need to know what preferred


career choice they can choose after Graduated in SHS?
RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

1. To know the preferred career choice that Grade 12 EPAS can take after
graduating from Senior High School.

2. To identify the factors that influence grade 12 EPAS Student’s career choice
in Molugan National High School.

3. To provide recommendations for enhancing the process and career readiness


of Grade 12 EPAS Students in Molugan National High School.

4. To determine the most popular career choice among Grade 12 EPAS


Students.
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

The survey will focus on the preferred career of Grade


12 EPAS Students in Molugan National High School for
the school year 2022 – 2023. The survey will aim to collect
data on the students desired career paths and factors
influencing their choices. The survey will be conducted
through a questionnaire and will include questions about
the student’s demographics, academic performance, and
interests.
The scope of the survey is limited to the
students of Molugan National High School, and the
data collected will be used solely for academic
purposes. This study is limited to 54 students only.

Significance of the study
1. Teachers. Teacher can draw career preferences to the forefront,
in reflecting on students’ preferences, clarifying career
preferences, summarizing and encouraging student career
preferences.

2. Future researchers. This may also provide databases for further


innovation of this research study.

3. School Head. The results of this study may also serve as a


framework for various programs and strategies to be employed in
school improvement planning.
DEFINITON OF TERMS

1. Career choice. Conceptually, this pertains to the


selection of a type of occupation or profession.

2. EPAS – Grade 12. Is one of the major strands in


Grade 12 SHS students taking in Molugan National
High School.
