What do we study at
DP?

1. Geography is a group 3 (I&S) subject.


2. SL has 2 papers: Two options and three core
units
3. HL has 3 papers: Three options, three core units
and three extended units
4. Both have an IA based on a river fieldwork in
Morocco (The Atlas mountains).
These aims have been taken directly from the guide.

Develop an understanding of the dynamic interrelationships


between people, places, spaces and the environment at
different scales.

Develop a critical awareness and consider complexity


The main aims thinking in the context of the nexus of geographic issues,
including: 
of Geography • acquiring an in-depth understanding of how geographic issues, or wicked
problems, have been shaped by powerful human and physical processes.
• synthesizing diverse geographic knowledge in order to form viewpoints
about how these issues could be solved.
