PRESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION
- is telling people what they should do
rather than simply giving suggestions or
describing what is done
Examples:
a. China shouldn’t have conducted a land
reclamation project in the South China
Sea.
b. You haven't tried hard enough to find a
job.
CRITICAL THINKING
- is the intellectually disciplined process of
actively and skillfully conceptualizing,
applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or
evaluating information gathered from,
observation, experience, reflection,
reasoning, or communication
- is the opposite of everyday thinking

1. It allows you to continue to develop intellectually
after you graduate.
2. It helps you make hard decisions.
3. People can’t manipulate you.
4.It makes you more employable (and better paid).

1. Ask basic questions.

box when they hear an idea, then think of
ways to modify that idea

- they can dream up strategies, clarify
perspectives, and invent products and can
generate something new where nothing
existed
ACTIVITY
