ETHICAL OBJECTIVES
4
Why ETHICS IS CONCERNED IN AI?
AI is a new field and it is likely that it impacts the
humanity in many ways.
It should not harm any one with any unfair actions.

INCLUSION
It is the ability to participate in the areas of the life
that are meaningful to us.
Can be political, economical and cultural or social.

FA Questions
With the increase in AI applications leading to replacing
human workforce, do you consider it ethical to
incorporate the use of AI for various jobs?
How do you think income would be shared if AI is used in
place of Human Workforce?
AI will probably bring with it many Health benefits. How
will these Health benefits be made accessible and
available to all the people in society?
AI is a powerful tool in various fields, however depending
on how it is used, it can either be a boon or a bane.
Discuss.

FACTS
In the year 2017,supreme court had decided the Rights
to Privacy should be protected.
Personal Data Protection Bill was passed: It has
limited rights that allows the person to restrict the
companies in use of their personal data.

BOON AND BANE OF AI TECHNOLOGY
BOON & BANE:
“AI is a powerful tool in various fields,
however depending on how it is used,
it can either be a boon or a bane".
Critically think about the cost and benefits of AI
Technology
16
BANE
AI causes more problems than it solves:
AI is necessarily dehumanizing: In many dystopian
scenarios, AI can be misused by some to control others, whether by
surveillance, robotic policing, automated “justice”, or an AI-supported
command-and-control economy. These can certainly be possible in
future, but not vast majority of people would support it.
AI will necessarily increase inequality: As it happened
in case of industrial revolution, it is certainly possible that increased
AI-based automation of work will concentrate income and wealth in
the hands of fewer and fewer people.
AI will reduce jobs available for humans: We humans
are lazy people, we want our work to be reduced to minimum. So when
AI technology is making our job so easy, to get connected, talk setting
up reminders or etc. we will trade human labour with machine as
machine dont get tired and deliver desired results always.
17
BOON
AI is the need of the hour:
More learning: AI offers greater access for humans to human
knowledge and individual learning; the elimination of language
barriers between peoples; and the elimination of meaningless and
repetitive drudgery that reduces people to the status of, well, robots.
Making our life easier: Artificial intelligence has made our
life easier by reducing the manual labour induced in that job. Whether
is calculating, ticket booking, and searching stuff online.
User friendly: It uses basic directions to do complex task, and
helps even differently abled to use it. Even if someone not used to
typing he may use the AI to make the work done, until he learns to use
to a smartphone.
Will require less labour force: AI will able to perform tasks
requiring minimal logic in much faster and economical manner.

Research Activity:
Ethics of Artificial Intelligence
19
Roboethics
It focuses upon how artificially intelligent beings may be used
to benefit or harm humans. It deals with so called Robot
Rights, which are the moral obligations of society towards its
machines, similar to human rights or animal rights.
Machine Ethics
It focuses on how a machine learns new things – the algorithms
involved, can it learn on its own, can it become superior to
humans etc.
The Three Laws of Robotics
• A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow
a human being to come to harm.
• A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except
where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
• A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection
does not conflict with the First or Second Laws 20
