Digital Image File Format
Are standardized means of organizing and storing digital
images. Image files are composed of digital data in one of
these formats can be rasterized for use on a computer
display or in printer.
TIFF
(Tagged Image File Format)

Is a common format for exchanging raster


graphics(bitmap) images between application
programs, including those used for scanner
images
JPEG
Joint Photographic Experts Group
This is the right format for those photo images which must
be very small files, for example, for web sites or for email.
JPG is often used on digital camera memory cards
JPG was a filetype developed by the Joint
Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) to be a standard for
professional photographers. Like the method ZIP files
use to find redundancies in files to compress data, JPGs
compress image data by reducing sections of images to
blocks of pixels or “tiles.”
GIF
(Graphics Interphase Format)
A lossless format for image files that supports
both animated and static images.
PNG
(Portable Network Graphics)

is a raster graphics file format that supports 


lossless data compression.
