Introduction:
Pepsi was first invented in 1893 as "Brad's Drink" by Caleb Bradham , who sold the
drink at his drugstore in New Bern, North Carolina. It was renamed Pepsi-Cola in
1898, "Pepsi" because it was advertised to relieve dyspepsia (indigestion) and
"Cola" referring to the cola flavor.
• Packaging: The finished products are then packaged into bottles, cans, or
other containers, depending on the product and the market it will be sold
in .
• Logistics: There are various logistics companies partner with Pepsi to move
the product from one point to another. Those companies have their own
fleet, warehouse and resources to carry out the job .
• Pepsi is committed to sustainability and incorporates eco-friendly practices
throughout the entire supply chain process, which include sourcing
sustainable ingredients, reducing the use of fossil fuels, and recycling or
repurposing waste materials.
• The company's traditional supply chain methods have focused on a more linear,
"push" model, in which products are manufactured and distributed based on
projected demand and sales forecasts. This approach has been effective in the
past, but it also has its limitations
• Geographic Expansion: Pepsi operates in many countries around the world, but
there are still opportunities for expansion in emerging markets, particularly in
Asia and Africa .
• e-Commerce and Online Sales: The shift towards online shopping has been
growing in recent years, and it's an opportunity for Pepsi to increase its online
sales channel, by leveraging platforms like Amazon, and other online
marketplaces.
• Supply Chain Disruptions: Pepsi need to prepare, plan and response effectively to
manage these disruptions .
• Rising Costs: . Pepsi faces this challenge by implementing cost-saving measures,
such as increasing efficiency and automating processes, and by working with
suppliers to negotiate better prices .
• Consumer Demands:. They're addressing this challenge by staying attuned to
trends and incorporating new products, services and technologies to meet
changing consumer demands.
