Importance of Courtship and Dating
Infatuation/Crush

 is the state of being completely carried away by

unreasoning passion or love; addictive love.
 admiration for someone that may include the desire to get to
Attraction know that person better.
Love
 Deepaffection for someone and is
based on a true desire for the other
person’s best interest.
 Is the period in a couple’s relationship which precedes their
Courtship engagement and marriage or it is an establishing of an agreed
relationship of a more enduring kind.
Why Is It Important for Couples to
Undergo Courtship?
 It gives a person time to know better the character and background of someone
being considered as one’s future lifetime partner.
 2. Courting gives time to understand one another.
 3. It reveals one’s interest, likes and dislikes, limitations, and aspirations in life.
 4. It allows couples to decide whether they ready to be committed.
 5. It allows couples to decide to determine and focus on what to expect in
marriage.
 6. It develops security and establishes respect for each other.
 7. It develops understanding and acceptance.
Dating  A social activity which involves two or more people generally assessing each
other’s suitability for a potential relationships.
Types of Dating

 1. Standard date - involves two people

 2.Double date – two couples go on a date at the same time and
place
 3. Group date – where any number of couples can enjoy date
Importance of Dating

 1. Strengthen the relationships

 2. Spend quality time with each other
 3. Observe the other person’s character
 4. Know one another better
 5. Reveal any potential problems the partners may have
 6. Develop affection and respect for each other
