• A billboard is a large outdoor advertising structure or hoarding,
typically found in high-traffic areas such as alongside busy roads.
• When we used to pop out our heads from cars to have a glance of
our favorite celebrities endorsing some brands?
• Good old days, huh?
• Sometimes, big brands would even start a billboard war, like this
one between Audi and BMW, which got quite a few laughs.
• Unfortunately or fortunately, billboard advertising is quite dead.
Why is Digital Marketing important?
• Just think of it this way, Google or Facebook generate more revenue than any
traditional media company because they control more eyeballs.
• That’s why digital marketing matters, it is where the attention is.
• The reason why billboards, just like the previous one die, is perfectly illustrated
in a single picture of a Volvo. Because, how often do you look outside for a
billboard when you have an iPad right in front of you in your cab?
• In a world where 9% of all drivers are on the phone one way or the other
(texting or calling),how can we think billboards have a future?
• If not even the driver is looking at the road any more, who’s supposed to see
those advertisements?
