art before the coming of the first
colonizers as “pre-conquest.”
Referred to it as “indigenous”.

• Art before is referred to as an


expression of an individual but yet
not categorized into different kinds
of forms.
1. ETHNIC TRADITION

- Arts were mainly influenced by geographical location


and the practices of the Filipinos.

- Most of their arts were animist or community- based.
