Past Papers Feynman Technique
A method of memorization where you learn a more
complex concept and then you break it down into simple terminology where a 5-year-old can understand. Then you go on and explain it to a friend or you write down how you would explain it to another person. Active Recall A method of recalling the things you just read, if you can’t remember, read it again and then try to recall again. This works because when you make mistakes, your brain receives many signals that tell it to not repeat it. The most useful way of using this is by writing it down in a question/answer format. Flashcards
A great method where you write the question
on the front of the card and the answers on the back. You will mix all the cards and try to answer them. This can help you a lot in subjects such as Kurdish and History where there is a lot of memorization. Pomodoro Technique A time management tool that helps you stay productive. For 25 minutes, you will be studying/working and for 5 minutes you will do whatever you enjoy. This is useful since your brain can still focus and be motivated for the next break. Spaced Repetition A memory technique that involves reviewing and recalling information at the optimum interval for your use case until you learn at a sufficient level. Studying an entire subject in a day and the next in the other is bad for you since you could forget a lot of the elements you studied before. This technique helps your brain to develop long-term memory about a certain subject. Past Papers When you study the questions that were brought up in previous exams you did, and you study them. This is a great source of learning since it could teach you what questions the teacher will bring and the teacher’s style. Summary • The quality of your studies matter more than the quantity you study. • Feynman Technique, spaced repetition and flashcards are great for memorization. • Past papers, flashcards and active recall are great for understanding. • Pomodoro is the best for time management.
