Iot Based Smart Irrigation

This document provides details about a team proposing a smart farming solution using IoT technology. The team leader is Kishore K from Government College of Engineering Salem. The problem aims to improve water use efficiency in irrigation using digital technologies or prototypes. The proposed solution involves sensors to monitor soil moisture, temperature and humidity which send data to a cloud server via an ESP32 module. This allows automated control of water pumps to irrigate plants effectively and save water. The team consists of 6 members and 2 mentors with experience in power electronics and solar photovoltaic power.

Problem statement : ESP32 SENSORS
India’s ground water (GW) levels are critically low with agriculture
accounting for 90% of india’s GDP with more than 30 million irrigation pumps.
These irrigation systems are inefficient with poor water flow control, which WEB SERVER BACK END
over-extracts GW and over irrigation of yields. SERVER AUTO PUMP
( FOR FUTHER
Low GW levels threaten livelihoods and food security.

with the help of sensors ( humidity, temperature, soil moisture, etc.) and
automation of irrigation systems.
 Water is saved effectively to use this system. Reason for choosing ESP32:
Contains Wi-fi and two fold Bluetooth capacities.
This IOT based Agriculture monitoring system makes use of wireless sensor
networks that collects data from different sensors deployed at various nodes
Contains high number of pins than other processors.
and sends it through the wireless protocol. It achieves very low power use through power saving features.
