Introduction
• What is stress? Stress is your body's reaction to a challenge or demand.
In other words it is your bodies response to physical mental and emotional pressure.

Stress affects all the body systems and prolonged stress


exposure can worsen conditions and may even create
non existent problems like headaches, heart problems
anxiety and more.
Examples of Stressors

Stress Hormone
The hypothalamus is in charge of
telling your adrenal glands to
release the stress hormones
adrenaline and cortisol.

These hormones increase your


heartbeat and send blood rushing
to the areas that need it most such
as muscles, heart etc.
Sleep Deprivation
• Getting a Proper amount of sleep is important for everyday function. It gives the body time to
recover and recharge every night.

1) Helps brain function


2)Keeps emotions in check
3) Reduces disease risk

The body is more likely to produce higher cortisol levels when there is lack of sleep over long period
of time.
Cardiovascular Disease
Acute stress strikes the cardiovascular system into full alert,
causing the heart rate to increase, blood vessels to dilate,
and blood pressure to rise to pump oxygenated blood to all
parts of the body.

The body returns to its resting state once the stressor has
passed, but chronic stress exposes the cardiovascular system
to higher levels of stress hormones, which can have long-
term consequences.

•Heart Valve Disease.
•Pericardial Disease.
Coping Strategies..
Social supporters, healthcare professionals.

Meditation
• Meditation can a sense of calm, peace, and balance

• Helps with both psychological well-being and overall
health

• Helps a person go through the day more calmly and may


help manage symptoms of certain prolonged stress.
Physical Activity

Finally, physical activity can help you sleep better. Better


sleep also helps to better stress and mood management.

Exercise appears to improve mood it stimulates the


People who exercise regularly have better deep "slow-wave" body to release a hormones such as endorphins and
sleep, which helps renew the brain and body endocannabinoids which help to block pain

Exercise makes people feel less worried and more


secure in themselves. When the body is at ease, the
mind often follows
Since 1992
• Prolonged tension may be caused by Relationship
crises, work-related issues, and lack of sleep.

• Stress really does have a great impact on the body,


increasing blood pressure, exhaustion, headaches and
muscle tension.

• Stress reducing activities is important like


meditation and exercise is no less important
than that. They keep the individual stress-
free, less strained, and boost confidence
