Neuman System Model: Application to Nursing Education and Practice, in

Theory in View of Metaparadigms:
Nursing's primary concern is to define the appropriate action in situation that are
stress-related or concerning possible reactions of the client of client system to
stressors. Nursing interventions aims to help the system adapt or adjust and retain ,
Nursing restore or maintain some degree of stability between the client system variables and
environment stressor’s, focusing on conserving.
Humans are defined as “men, women, and children cared for either singly or as
Person social units.” and are “the material object.” of nurses and others who provide direct
care.
The environment is a vital arena that is germane to the system and it’s function. The
environment may be viewed as all factors that affect and are affected by the system.
Environment In Neuman System Model identifies three relevant environments. (1) internal (2)
external (3) created.
MAJOR CONCEPT:
The focus of Neuman's concept is on highlighting how a person responds to environmental stresses.
This phenomenon is explained by six main ideas. Clients, variables, environment, stressors, wellness,
and nursing intervention are the main ideas in the model.
