Betty Nauman System Model

Betty Neuman was a pioneer in nursing theory who developed the Neuman Systems Model. [1] The model views clients as open systems that interact with stressors in the environment. [2] It focuses on stress and a client's response, with the goal of helping clients retain, attain, or maintain stability or wellness. [3] Nurses use the model to conduct holistic assessments, understand client stressors and adaptation, and develop interventions to promote wellness.
