Assessment 1: Group Business Plan Group Business Plan due 16 Sept @11:59

Group or individual: group
Written Word limit: 1200 words maximum excluding references
Audio-Cast: 10 Minute Group Review of the Case Report, plus 2 Minute Reference Review of the 5 most significant
references utilised to develop the project.
Both the Written and Audio components are mandatory and failure to deliver both will result in a mark of 0/30.
Unit Learning Outcomes:
2. Develop an integrated business plan for international market expansion with strategic recommendations and analyses of
different market entry strategies.
Instructions
Student will be provided with a Group Case Study in Week 2 and this will form the basis of your Group Critical Study of the
Case.
Step 1: Form Group
Step 2: Research, and then research further.
Step 3: Begin Writing Process. Research more.
Step 4: Carry out research process and editing. Repeat
Step 5: Submit.
Assignment 1
1) 4 students per Group (but since we have 30, last two groups may have only 3 students
each)
2) 10 minutes of content each taking 2 ½ minutes and 2 minutes for references. The
groups with 3 students will get 3 minutes each for the presentation and 2 additional
minutes for references.
3) One student to talk about references
4) Written and audio submissions are mandatory
5) Each group member to fill up the form shared by UC to mention their individual
contributions to the assignment
6) Each one to submit individual report separately with the common presentation
7) Can look at two Sri Lankan companies of your choice challenged by the geopolitical
issues and how they manage the situation (Ex. Food companies who are challenged
with escalating prices, Hospitality industry – the effect on the hotels and Resorts)
8) Two companies should give you an opportunity to compare the actions of both selected
institutions

Assessment 2: Individual Business Presentation - due 7 Oct @11:59
Deliver a professional presentation on the topic of their Individual Report.
Value: 30%
Group or individual: Individual
Length: 8 minute video presentation (no need to present in class). 6 Minutes on
Content 2 Minutes on Reference Review. No PowerPoint. Straight Dialogue into
the Camera.
Unit Learning Outcomes:
3. Appraise the conceptual, theoretical and practical underpinnings of
formulating an international strategic business plan.
For example: if the student is seeking to work in the international luxury goods
sector then the project will need to examine this sector/an enterprise within
this sector in great depth exploring how it will secure its future over the next 5-
10 years.
This abstract should be reviewed in class/ES with you your lecturer for approval
to continue with the project. The review should take place in the classroom
with the student seeking feedback not only from the lecturer but the
classmates. If classes are not possible then direct feedback from the
Lecturer should be sought.
Once explicit approval of the abstract is provided by your local lecturer then
you are to proceed to research and proceed with 2and and 3rd assignments.
Abstract - Max 300 words. Must present in the
class (5 minutes)
1) Analysis of the industry you want to pursue/Growth
potential of that industry in the next 5 – 10
years/challenges of that industry
2) The selected organization/Future of the selected
organization in the next 5 – 10 years/how they plan to
face the challenges
3) Your career projection – professional path. What do you
expect to achieve at the end of 10 years in that
organization and how?

Assessment 3: Individual Report – due 28 Oct @23:59
Value: 40%
Group or individual: individual
Written Report Word limit: 2500 words (not including the reference list): Minimum 15
references utlised throughout the report.
Format: Written Report to be with 2 line spacing, Times New Roman size 12 font, and APA
style referencing.
Audio-Cast Support: 10 Minute Audio-Cast delivering a final overview of the written report
inclusive of 2 Minute review of the references utilised within the final written report.
The student should highlight improvement made to the Assessment since the submission of
the Individual Video Report.
Both the Written Report and Audio-Cast Support are mandatory and failure to submit both
will result in a mark of 0/40.
Unit Learning Outcomes:
1. Create an international business concept and work to develop key aspects of the proposal.
Assignments 2 and 3
1) Week 4, each student presents 300 words abstract in the class for the
approval of the lecturer and fellow students
2) Need to have more emphasis on next 5 to 10 years on your career
development with the industry and selected organizational analyses
3) Students upload the total 8 minutes video to the link before the deadline for
Assignment 2.
4) The same contents can be developed to the 10 minutes video and individual
report in Assignment 3 using 2500 words excluding references.
5) That should include the developments identified after the Assignment 2
based on the class discussions
6) For the Assignment 3 Report, use the format of the geopolitical Case
study as the guide. Follow the same format for the report including
references 12
