Fast food companies should not be allowed to
give free toys with their food. Do you agree or
disagree?

On the one hand, the negative impact of the twenty-first-

century diet, which contains a lot of high-fat and high-salt
dishes, is out of the question. Fast food as the most popular
meal among children is being prepared with overused oil and
a non-standard amount of salt to taste better. Consequently,
it has brought us plenty of disadvantages, like
obesity. Therefore, giving toys with food would only increase
its consumption so it should be banned.

Body paragraph – elaborate each point

Agree or Disagree essay
Some parents think that childcare centres provide the best services for
children of preschool age. Other working parents think that family
members such as grandparents will be better carers for their kids.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Discuss both views and give your opinion

Grandparents are the best people to look after children for very
obvious reasons. Grandparents really love their grandchildren and
would never harm them. Also, the children really love their
grandparents and feel comfortable with them. Finally,
grandparents have lots of experience taking care of children
because they are old and looked after children for many years
themselves.
Reasons and Solution
Double question
Don't:
-Overuse basic linking words like firstly (instead, try using ‘The
first reason for/ The primary reason for this’)
-Start every sentence with a linker (Try to put it in the middle of a
sentence. E.g. “Some people believe, however, that individuals must
also take responsibility for the environment” or “I believe, on the
other hand, that individuals do have a responsibility to…”)
-Use numbers, symbols or abbreviations (1, 2, etc, &, +)
-Use headings or subheadings
-Underline words or phrases
-Use one-sentence paragraphs
-Start every sentence with a linking device.
Do:
-Use paragraphs
-Use linkers between and within your
paragraphs
-Leave a space between each paragraph (a
line)
-Use a paragraph for each topic
-Use an introduction and a conclusion.
