After concluding that a clinical trial has been
valid and the results are quite important, then
there are several important points in determining
applicability:
• do the patients in our clinic have similarities with the
subjects studied in the paper.
• First determine the value estimate f, namely the factor
that shows how much the weight of our patient
compared with the patient on clinical trials. If the
patient in our clinic is similar to mean of clinical trial
patients then f = 1. If it is more severe, means it is
more difficult to recover, then f <1
participants were randomly assigned to semaglutide 2.4 mg (n = 152)
or placebo (n = 152), 92.8% of whom completed the trial (attended
end-of-trial safety visit). Most of the participants were female (236 (77.6%))
and
white (283 (93.1%)), with a mean (s.d.) age of 47.3 (11.0) years, body mass
index 38.5 (6.9) kg m–2 and weight 106.0 (22.0) kg. Meaningful change
body weight from baseline to week 104 was −15.2% on semaglutide
group (n = 152) versus −2.6% with placebo (n = 152), to estimate
treatment difference was −12.6 %-points (95% confidence interval, −15.3
up to −9.8; P < 0.0001). There were more participants in the semaglutide group
than in the placebo group achieved ≥5% weight loss from baseline at week 104
(77.1% versus 34.4%; P < 0.0001).

Based on research, it is said that research has been carried out on the effects of
semaglutide on adults with obesity, according to the results, weight loss of
15.2% was obtained in the group given 2.4mg semaglutide. So this research
has applicability for obesity sufferers
