Power Supply: Electronic Circuits

The document discusses the components and process of a direct current (DC) power supply circuit. The circuit transforms alternating current (AC) to direct current through several steps: 1) An AC input voltage is passed through a transformer which can increase or decrease the voltage as needed. 2) Rectification is then used to convert the transformed voltage into a DC voltage by allowing current to pass only during half cycles. 3) A filter removes any remaining ripples in the voltage to produce a smoothed DC output voltage. 4) A voltage regulator is included to stabilize the output voltage.

POWER SUPPLY

ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS:

DIRECT CURRENT (DC) POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT:

A circuit used to transform alternating current (AC) to direct current.

DC power supply is capable of increasing or decreasing the input voltage depending on the type of transformer used.
Rectification is the process when the voltage meet the required value that transformed into DC voltage. The voltage produced still has an alternating current form called ripples, which are then removed by a filter.

A voltage regulator is used in order to ensure that the output is stabilized.
