Inventory

The document discusses the First In First Out (FIFO) inventory accounting method. Under FIFO, the oldest inventory items are recorded as being sold or used first. An example is provided of a company that purchased and sold bikes throughout January. Using FIFO, the value of the bikes remaining in inventory at the end of January is calculated to be the cost of the 2 bikes from the original purchase ($100) plus the cost of the 2 newest bikes from the second purchase ($140), totaling $240.
