Slips Trips Falls Working Surfaces

Slips, trips, and falls can occur when a person's foot contacts an unexpected object or surface, causing them to lose their balance. Slips happen when there is too little friction between a shoe and surface, trips occur when an object is contacted unexpectedly, and falls result from being too far off balance. Falls can be either at the same level or from an elevation. Hazards like clutter, spills, uneven surfaces, and distractions increase slip, trip and fall risks. Proper footwear, paying attention, good housekeeping, and being proactive in identifying and reporting hazards can help prevent these incidents.
