• Internally, self always interacts with others
• There is also the awareness of self as seen by

• Self-consciousness is a characteristic of self-other

• “seeming” is an action where individuals adjust
their behavior when dealing with others

or he/she is shaped by relating with others.
What are the aspects of intersubjectivity?
• Empathy – ability to share emotions.
• Availability – willingness to be present and be at
disposal of others
• Ethics of Care – helping others as moral obligation
Ethics of Care
This is an ethical theory that emphasizes the moral
dimension of relationships and interactions.
Proponents of this believes that people have the
moral obligation to respond to the needs of other
people.
There are also negative human interaction called
“alienation”.
Alienation
- occurs when individuals
are marginalized, ignored,
or excluded based on
their gender, race,
socioeconomic status, or
other identities.
How can philosophy evaluate help with
others
• Acceptance of difference
• “No two people are the same, even twins”

• Embracing diversity
• “People should learn how to live together”
