ABSTRACT
In today’s world the internet has made our lives easier. One can do almost anything, anytime online without moving
out which also includes purchasing groceries for our sweet homes. A lot of people have actually come to prefer buying
their things online today. Therefore, I have designed a website that will help the users to purchase groceries online from
my website “Grocery Store”. This website allows users to buy groceries online from their home anytime which are
needed in day-to-day life without standing in long ques for purchasing. This includes fruits, vegetables, pulses, bread,
etc. This is a user-friendly website in which a customer can view the item and price of the item it is buying. Whenever
you wanted to purchase grocery without thinking a lot you can but that online anytime of the day or night, at your own
convenience, regardless of what the weather outside or even without spendings lot of time on purchasing still you can
get everything that you need and want. So basically, this project is a web-based shopping system for an existing shop.
It is an attempt to provide the advantages of online shopping to its users of a real shop. If shops are providing an online
portal where their customers can enjoy easy shopping from anywhere, the shops won’t be losing any more customers to
the trending online shops such as Amazon. Since the web application is easily accessible and always available.
INTRODUCTION
Online shopping is the process whereby consumers directly buy goods or services from a seller in real-
time, without an intermediary service, over the Internet. It is a form of electronic commerce. This project
is an attempt to provide the advantages of online shopping to customers of a real shop. It helps buying the
products in the shop anywhere through internet by using an android device. Thus, the customer will get
the service of online shopping and home delivery from his favorite shop. This project is a web-based
grocery shopping system for an existing shop. Online grocery shopping is a form of electronic commerce
where the buyer can directly (online) buy their products in need from the seller's computer usually via the
internet. There is no intermediary service. The sale and purchase transaction are completed electronically
and interactively in real- time such as Amazon.com for new books. If an intermediary is present, then the
sale and purchase transaction is called electronic commerce such as eBay.com. It also include recipes
page along with various quizzes to increase one's knowledge. So, customer can easily shop according to
the need of different recipes. It is time-saving and efficient.
OBJECTIVE
Develop a system that will allow customers lo place their food order online and provide
them with feedback as lo the calorie and fal count of the meal, a generic image of the meal,
a list of side dishes, main course ingredients, and cost information.

 Create an account.
 Manage their account.
 Log in to the system.
 Select an item from the menu.
 Add an item to their current order.
 Review their current order.
 Remove an item/remove all items from their current order.
 Provide payment details.
 Place an order.
 Receive confirmation in the fonn of an order number.
 View order placed.
MENU MANAGEMENT SYSTEM MODULE

 Add/update/delete food category to/from the menu.


 Add /update/delete food item to/frorn the menu.
 Update price for a given food ite,n.
 Update additional information (description, photo, etc.) for a given food item.
ORDER RETRIEVAL SYSTEM MODULE

 This is the most simplest module out of all 3 modules. It is designed to be used only by
restaurant employees, and provides the following functions:
1. Retrieve new orders from the database.
2. Display the orders in an easily readable, graphical way.
