For Demo 2

The document discusses and compares the English and metric systems of measurement. It provides details on the base units and prefixes used in the metric system. It also explains that the English system uses body parts and household items to measure dimensions. Examples are given demonstrating conversions between the two systems for length, mass, and volume. The key difference highlighted is that the metric system is standardized while the English system varies more.

METRIC SYSTEM OF
MEASUREMENTS
• Is a standardized form of measurement.
• It is also called as “SI” or Système International d’unites in French.
• The base units for metric system are Length, Grams and Liters.

• Starting from the right: Deci(d), Centi(c), and Milli(m).
METRIC SYSTEM OF
MEASUREMENTS
ENGLISH SYSTEM OF
MEASUREMENTS
• It uses body parts to measure distance.

• It also uses other everyday household items to

measure weight and volume.

• The base unit of measurement is ‘inch’.
