Science Year 3 Density

Pupils will learn about density by carrying out activities to observe whether objects float or sink in water based on their density. They will predict and observe how various objects and materials, such as rubber bands, wooden clips, paper clips, clay, and spans, float or sink in water. By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to state which objects float or sink based on their relative density to water, and relate the floating and sinking of objects to their density.

Theme : PHYSICAL SCIENCE

Topic / skills : 7.0 DENSITY (Ketumpatan)
Content Standard : 7.1 Objects or materials which are more or less dense than water.
Learning Standard :
7.1.1 Make inferences about objects or materials that float or sink by carrying out activities.
7.1.2 Relate objects or materials that float and objects or materials that sink with density.

Objectives :By end of the lesson, most of the pupils will be able to:
State the objects that float or sink in water, and can relate the density of the objects or material
with the density of water.

Succes Criteria : Pupils can classifying the objects/material that float or sink, and explain
about density of material.
