Present perfect or past simple
Present perfect
Examples:
-I have run six marathons for charity.
-I’ve never visited Japan.
-Have you ever been there?
I have been there three times.

We often use ever and never with present perfect to talk about our whole life experience.

We can also use once/twice/three times etc. at the end of a sentence to say how many times
we have had an experience.

We use present perfect for experiences in general.


Past Simple positive, negative, questions.
We use the simple past when we refer to an action that we
have already done in the past.

past and indicate the time in which the action was performed.

Simple past – Present perfect

1) Liz and Jona has drunk since the morning.

2) Danna did worked in the museum the las week.

3) Have you study English for 4 hours?

5) I lost my cat since 2021. My cat has found a new family for 1 year.
Present perfect with just, already, and
yet.
JUST

We use the present perfect with just in positive statements to say that
something happened a very short time ago.

Examples:

Hi, can I call you back in five minutes? I’ve just got home.

Has she just left? No, she went a few hours ago.
ALREADY
In present perfect with already in positive statements shows that something is
complete, often before we expected.
Example:
-Do you want to come to the supermarket?
No, thanks. I’ve already done my shopping.

We also use already in present perfect questions to show surprise:


Have you already done all your work?
YET
We use present perfect with yet:
 In a negative statement to show that something is not complete.
 In a question to ask if something is complete.

Examples:
 I’m leaving. Have you finished yet?
 Can you wait five minutes? I Haven’t printed my report yet.
