ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

INTRODUCTIO
N
Advanced technology refers to a technology that is
still immature but promises to deliver significant
value, or that has some technical maturity but still
has relatively few users. Examples of Advanced
Technologies include artificial intelligence, virtual
reality, 3D visualization, smart cards, enhanced
user authentication, real-time collaboration and
handwriting recognition.
ARTIFICIAL
INTELLIGENCE
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is defined as the ability of a
di g i t a l c o mput e r o r co mput er- c o ntro l l ed ro bo t t o
perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent
beings. Artificial Intelligence is also defined as An
Intelligent Entity Created By Humans which is capable
of performing tasks intelligently without being
explicitly instructed. Artificial Intelligence technology
can process large amounts of data in ways, unlike
humans. The goal of AI is to be able to do things such
as recognize patterns, make decisions and judge like
humans. Artificial Intelligence came into existence in
1950. The purpose of AI is to aid human capabilities

consequences. John McCarthy is considered as the
father of Artificial Intelligence.
ROBOTICS AND
AUTOMATION

Robotics is a field of Science working with machines that perform tasks

based on pre-determined and adapted programs and algorithms in an
automatic or semi-automatic way. These machines-commonly called robots-
are either controlled by humans or work entirely under the supervision of a
computer application and algorithms.
Automation is a much broader concept than robotics. It means that specific
parts of a process or an entire process is performed without human
intervention.
3D AUTOMATION

that provides the perception of depth similar to
a real-world object. This technology is
commonly used in movies, video games,
graphics and virtual reality projects. 3D
models are used to portray real-world and
conceptual visuals for art, entertainment,
simulation and drafting and are integral to
many different industries. The first glimpse of
3D motion occurred between 1850 and 1860
when various people started combining
machines that would display a series of images
quickly and stereoscopic photography to create
a moving 3D image. Charles Hull is the
inventor of 3D printing.
Quantum computing
Quantum Computing is a field of study centered on
developing computer technology based on the

computing could help humanity solve some of the

critical areas.

growth, and to create new and better jobs to replace old ones. As much as
two-thirds of potential productivity growth in major economies over the
next decade could be related to the new digital technologies.
