The standards applicable to containers for offshore use are:

BS 7072 : 1989
British Standard Code of practice for
Inspection and repair of offshore containers. (WITHDRAWN)

BS EN 12079: 1 : 2006
British Standard Code of Practice for Offshore containers – Design, construction, testing,
inspection and marking.

T Lifting or proof load test 2 x gross weight :

• Before being used for the first time.

• At intervals not exceeding 24 months.

• After any substantial repair or alteration.
