Executive Summary:

The purpose of this project proposal is to address the critical issue of food insecurity and
healthcare needs in our community by implementing a comprehensive feeding program and health
medical mission in Brgy. Bugas Borongan City Eastern Samar.

In the recent years the crisis of food has worsens. The program combines the provision of
nutritious meals with medical and health services to improve the overall well-being of the target
population.

The program will be implemented over a six-month period, focusing on providing nutritious
meals and conducting medical check-ups, health education sessions and basic medical treatments. The
estimated budget for the project is 600,000 and we anticipate positive outcomes in terms of improved
nutrition, better outcomes, and increased community engagement.
Project Background:

Brgy. Bugas, located in Borongan City, faces various challenges related to food insecurity and limited access to

healthcare services. Many families in the community struggle to afford nutritious meals regularly, leading to malnutrition

and related health issues. Also, the lack of accessible healthcare facilities and services worsen the health concerns of the

residents. Recognizing these challenges, the community feeding program and health medical mission aims to alleviate the

immediate nutritional needs of the community while also providing essential Healthcare services.

Project Objectives:

 To provide of regular nutritious meals to vulnerable individuals, including


children, elderly and low-income families in Brgy. Bugas Borongan City.

 To conduct health medical missions that include medical check-up, health


education sessions and basic medical treatments.

 Raise awareness about proper nutrition, hygiene practice’s, and disease prevention
to promote health living habits within the community.

 Strengthen community engagement and participation on in addressing health and


nutrition issues, fostering’s a sense of unity and responsibility.

 Collaborate with local health authorities, volunteers and community leaders to


establish a sustainable feeding program and health support system.
Desired Impact and Outcome of the project:

 Improved nutrition and overall health of the residents, leading to reduced


nutrition refers and improved well-being, especially among vulnerable
individuals.
 Enhanced access to healthcare, the health medical mission, residents will have
access the medical to medical consultations, check-ups and medications,
ensuring early detection and management of health conditions.
 Enhanced knowledge and awareness of proper nutrition practices and disease
prevention among the community members leading to improved health
practices.
 Strengthened community bonds and active participation in addressing health
and nutrition and health issues, promoting a sense of solidarity and shared
responsibility that can sustain and expand the impact of the feeding program
and health initiatives.
Risk Management Plan:
 Lack of funding: Insufficient financial resources may limit the scope and effectiveness of the
problem.
Mitigation: Seek sponsorships and donation from local business, organizations and
government agencies.
 Inadequate Volunteer support: If there is a shortage of volunteers, it may be challenging to execute
the program efficiently.
Mitigation: Recruit volunteers from local universities, community organizations, and social
media platforms.
 Adverse weather conditions: Unfavorable weather such as heavy rains or storms, can disrupt the
event affect attendance.
Mitigation: Monitor weather forecasts closely and have contingency plans in place, such as
rescheduling the event or arranging an indoor venue.
 Health and safety risks: Attendees and volunteers may face health and safety risks during the
events, such as accidents, foodborne, illnesses or allergies reaction.
Mitigation: Ensure proper hygiene and food safety measures, provide medical personnel on-
site and have first aid kits readily available.



 Insufficient supplies and equipment: Lack of necessary supplies, such as food,
cooking utensils or medical equipment, may hinder the smooth operation of the
program.
Mitigation: Conduct a thorough inventory check prior to the event, collaborate
with local supplier’s for additional resources and have backup plans for essential
item.
 Community resistance or misunderstanding: Some community members may be
hesitant to participate due to cultural or social reasons, or they may misunderstand
the purpose of the program.
Mitigation: Engage with community leaders and stakeholders early on, conduct
awareness campaign, and provide clear information about the programs goals and
benefits.

 Stakeholders Pledge:
-Local Government Unit: The Borongan City Government has expressed support
for the project and pledged to provide logistical assistance, including venue
arrangement, permits, and security.
-Local Health Department: The City Health office has committed to assigning
medical personnel
and volunteers to support the health medical mission.
-Local Community Organizations: Several community organizations have pledged
to contribute volunteers, resources, and additional funding to complement the
project.
 Lined-up Projects:
-Nutrition Education Workshop; Conduct workshops on proper nutrition,
meal planning, and healthy cooking techniques. These workshops will
empower individuals and families to make informed decisions regarding
their dietary choices.
-Community Garden Project: Establishing a community garden to promote
sustainable agriculture and promote a source of fresh produce for the feeding
program.
-Health and Hygiene Awareness Campaign: To improve overall health practices in
the community, we will launch a health and hygiene awareness campaign. This
campaign will include workshops, training sessions, and the distribution of hygiene
kits,
emphasizing the importance of proper sanitation, handwashing, and disease
prevention.
Conclusion:

The proposed community feeding program and health medical mission in Brgy.

Bugas, Borongan City, have the potential to address the nutritional needs and health

concerns of the underprivileged community members. By providing nutritious meals,

basic medical services, and health education, we aim to improve the overall well being

and quality of life for the residents, foster resilience, and empower individuals to lead

healthier lives. The projects success depends on the support and funding provided,

allowing us to make a significant positive impact on the community’s health and

welfare.
