Cement Slurry Requirements
• Slurry Volume between the Casing and the Hole
• Annulus between 9 5/8” casing and 12 ¼” openhole
Hole capacity = 0.3133ft^3/ft
Annular capacity = 13800 – 10800 = 3000ft
Annular volume = 3000 x 0.3133 = 939.6ft^3
Plus 20% excess = 1.2 x 939.6 = 1127.5ft^3
• Slurry Volume Below The Float Collar:
Volumetric capacity of 9 5/8” casing = 0.4110 ft^3 /ft
Shoetrack Volume = 60 x 0.4110 = 25ft^3

Slurry Volume in the rathole

Volumetric capacity of 12 1/4” openhole = 0.8185ft^3/ft
Rathole Volume = 13810 – 13800 = 10ft
= 10 x 0.8185 = 8.2ft^3
Plus 20% excess = 1.2 x 8.2 = 9.8ft^3

Total Cement Slurry Volume = 1127.5 + 25 + 9.8 = 1163ft^3

Amount of Cement & Mixwater

Number of sacks = 1163/1.14 = 1020 sacks

Mixwater requirements = 1020 x 4.96 = 5059 gallons = 120bbls
Amount of Additives

• Retarder D13R (0.2% by weight)

=

• Friction Reducer D65 (1% by weight)

=
Displacement Volume

• Displacement Volume = Volume between the cement head and the float collar
= Volumetric capacity of the 9 5/8” casing x depth to top of float collar
= 0.4110 x 13740 = 5647 ft^3 (/5.6) = 1006 bbls
Add additional 2bbls for surface line = 1006 + 2 = 1008bbls.

Number of strokes = 1008/0.138 = 7300 strokes.

• Volume = 700 x 0.6946 = 486.22ft^3
• Plus 20% excess = 583.2ft^3
Stage 2 Total slurry volume = 509.7ft^3
• Slurry Volume Below The Float Collar: .
• Shoetrack Volume = 60 x 0.8314 = 49.88ft^3

• Slurry Volume Below The 13 3/8” casing

• Rathole Volume = 30 x 1.6703 = 50.1ft^3

• Total Number of Sacks Stage 1 = 693/1.18
= 587 sacks.
• Total Number of Sacks Stage 2 = 508/1.83
= 269 sacks.
Mixwater Requirements:
Stage 1 = 0.67 x 587 = 393.2ft^3 = 70.1bbls
Stage 2 = 1.37 x 269 = 370ft^3 = 66bbls

Hydrostatic Head:

Stage 2: Mud Hydrostatic (0 - 1000 ft) + Cement Hydrostatic (1000 - 1500 ft)
= (0.052 x 10 x 1000) + (0.052 x 13.3 x 500) = 863psi
