HYPERLOOP

Hyperloop is a proposed mode of passenger and freight transportation that would propel capsule-like vehicles at airline speeds through a near-vacuum tube. It could provide a faster, safer, more efficient alternative to existing surface transportation. The system would use magnetic levitation and a low-pressure tube to allow hyperloop pods to transport people or objects at airline speeds while using little energy. Major tech companies are developing hyperloop systems, with some projects aiming for speeds of over 700 mph. The system has the potential to revolutionize long-distance travel by connecting major cities in under an hour.

HYPERLOOP

THE 5th FORM OF

TRANSPORTATION?
THE NEW ERA
A FUTURISTIC UPDATE
why?
 1) Rail relatively slow
 2) Road slow
 3) water Time consumption
 4) Air Expensive
ANY NEW MODE OF
TRANSPORTATION?
 The answer is “yes”. Our great innovative
human mind takes a huge step towards the
dynamic future .

 With the concept of

 “ HYPERLOOP ”
What is HYPERLOOP?
 Hyperloop is a mode of passenger and goods
transportation that propels a capsule like
vehicle through a near vacuum tube with the
help of electromagnetic field.
 Hyperloop is currently under development by
many tech gaints . Expected speed is about 700
miles per hour in vacuum tube ..
COMPONENTS OF HYPERLOOP:
TUBE

The tube is made of steel. Two tubes will be welded

together in a side by side configuration to allow the
capsules to travel both directions.
Pylons are placed every 100 ft (30 m) to support the
tube.
CAPSULE/POD
 Capsules are used to carry passengers and goods.
 These capsules are shaped aerodynamically to reduce the
drag.
 Capsules consists of linear induction motor under the
hood, compressor at the front and air bearings at the
bottom.
 Capsules are designed with latest technologies and
houses new form of gadgets for the comfort and
COMPRESSOR
Compressor is placed at the front part of the
capsule.

Compressor fans sucks the low pressure air. After

compression, compressed air is supplied to the air
bearings and also at the rear end of the capsule.
SUSPENSION

Air bearings are used as suspension for the capsule.

Air bearings can also be used to levitate the capsule

with the help of compressed air that flows from
compressor to air bearings
PROPULSION
Capsule houses linear induction motor along the
length to accelerate and decelerate. •

Linear stators are placed on the capsules to

transfer momentum to the capsule via linear
accelerators.
POWER SOURCE

The main resource for the power is Solar energy.

Solar arrays are placed along the length of the tube.

Necessary battery arrangements are made to store

the energy to operate at night and in cloudy weather
WORKING OF THE HYPERLOOP
 Hyperloop works on the principle of Magnetic Levitation. •
 The capsules moves in the low pressure pylon supported
tube.
 The low pressure air is sucked by the compressor, converts it
into high pressured air and ejects it through the air bearings
and at rear end nozzles to get extra forward Hyperloop tube
Progress of the Hyperloop
Hyperloop is half way constructed and tested for
the route between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
hyperloop one

The construction of Hyperloop has started for the

route between Dubai and Abu Dhabi .
Development of Hyperloop in India:
 Approved by the Indian government on routes
between

 Amravati to Vijaywada
 Mumbai to Pune
 Bengaluru to Chennai
 Mumbai to Chennai
LATEST UPDATE
MERITS:
 Safer option
 Faster
 Lower cost
 Immune to weather
 Sustainble self powering
 Saves travelling time
 Resistant to earthquakes.
 More convenient
DEMERITS:
 Movable space for passengers
 High speed can be dangerous aswell
 Shockwaves from tube
 Intial investment.
CONCLUSION
 Hyperloop transportation can be used in future
as same as rail, air, road and water.

 At very high speed it provides better comfort

and cost is low.

 Even taking demerits into the account ,

Hyperloop still proves to be a dynamic
transportation mode for the future.
