Gansu Province Increse Tourism Revenue.

Gansu province in northwest China has rich natural scenery and cultural sites like Dunhuang, but tourism revenue declined due to COVID-19. To boost tourism, the Gansu government implemented a branding strategy called "Symphonic Silk Road Puji Gansu" and recruited experts to examine the industry. They developed six cultural integration programs that increased tourist numbers and revenue from 2011 to 2021. However, tourism remains unevenly distributed across the province.

SUMMARY OF
THE CASE
Gansu is a province in northwest china that borders Shanxi In the
east, Xinjiang in the West, Sichuan in South and Ningxia in the
North. It has a really long road network of more than 1600 km
ranging from East to West .Gansu has a very rich and diverse
natural scenery. The city of Dunhuang in Gansu province has 4
great civilizations namely Chinese, Indian, Greek and Islamic
civilization. According to a report of 2019-2025 China historical
and Cultural tourism Industry, the cultural and tourism resource
enrichment of Gansu ranks 5th in China .In 2018, gov.
recommended adopting a strong tourism strategy brand with the
motto ‘Symphonic Silk Road Puji Gansu’ to promote tourism and
generate income
from tourism. After the emergence of Covid 19, The
Gansu gov. recruited a professional tourism research
team to examine the state of tourism and state plan to
expand tourism in Gansu, where it was specified that the
tourism sector of Gansu had a consistent increase in both
foreign and local tourism earning since 2011, and it
declined because of Covid in 2020. And after comparison
with the neighbouring provinces in 2020.And after

Yearbook, it was found that Gansu had a bigger room to
grow and for that 6 major Cultural and 4 major Cultural
and tourism integration programs were implemented
which resulted in an increase in the number of tourists in
Gansu and also an increased tourism revenue was also
there.
