Photography is the science, art, application and practice of creating durable images by recording light. The document discusses the purpose of photography as capturing and expressing life. It then lists and provides samples of different types of photography styles such as nature, wildlife, sports, portrait, and wedding photography. The rest of the document covers basic photographic concepts and techniques like composition with the rule of thirds, rule of odds, rule of phi or golden ratio, leading lines, framing, depth, patterns and shapes, negative and positive space, manipulating light, motion, and post-processing. It concludes by providing contact information for more details.

RULE OF THIRDS Composition
The rule of thirds is applied by aligning a subject
with the guide lines and their intersection points, placing the horizon on the top or bottom line, or allowing linear features in the image to flow from section to section. Composition Composition Composition Rule of Odds • The Rule of Odds states that people are more attracted to uneven numbers in a composition. ... People are naturally drawn to unusual or uneven composition. To that end, we use an odd number of elements — hence “rule of odds” Rule of odds Rule of Phi (universal measurement) • The Phi Grid looks very similar to the Rule of Thirds principle yet it has one very important difference. Instead of dividing the frame into equal thirds of 1:1:1, the Golden Ratio is applied to divide the frame into sections resulting in a grid that is Golden ratio Golden ratio Leading Lines • Leading lines are one of the most effective and under-utilised compositional tools available to photographers. You can use them to draw a viewer's attention to a specific part of the frame, whether it's a person, or a vanishing point in the background of the frame. Leading Lines Leading Lines Leading lines Frame the Frame • Whether it be a very literal frame (that went through a popular “prop” phase), environmental, or structural framing, framing with light or lack of light, they all work well to bring the viewer's eye to your subject. Framing is actually defined by wikipedia as 'a technique used to bring focus to a subject'. Depht • To further present a flat surface create points of perspective to draw the attention of the eye to the subject all the way around the frame Patterns and Shapes
• View the world as patterns and shape to
show a different perspective and dynamics Negative and Positive Space
• Fill the frame or isolate the subject with the
spaces it acquire Manipulate Light • Capture the light find the best light… • Two kinds of light • Ambiant light • Natural light Motion / Movements Motion / Movements Post-Processing Post-Processing Post-Processing Post-Processing Post-Processing Post-Processing Post-Processing Post-Processing For more info
