DEVELOPMENT
The ideal self is the one you
aspire to be. The one that you
hope will possess
characteristics similar to that of
a mentor or some other worldly
figure
Actual self, is the one that
you actually see. It is the
self that has characteristics
that you were nurtured or,
in some cases, born to have.
Self-concept refers
to your awareness
of yourself
The benefit of knowing
yourself is important in
understanding the kind of
person you are and how you
are to others.
Focus more on
your strengths and
abilities.
Improve your
weaknesses by accepting
who you are and have
confidence to grow up
from your limitations.
Show the world what
you have and be
proud of yourself.
Moviegoer
This person watches the movie
of their lives, admires some
parts, and criticizes others.
Aside from that, they do
nothing else.
Actor
This person does not only
watch the movie of her life. She
actually realizes she’s the Actor
–and can control a big part of
her life.
Scriptwriter
This person does not only watch,
and she doesn’t only act, but she
actually creates the entire movie
from her mind. She determines
what she will say, what she will do,
and how the movie will end.
Self-concept refers to
an individual’s beliefs
and self-evaluations
Self- enhancement
can result to bad
choices in life.
People who are highly
achievers tend to have
better self-concept.
Weaknesses are
part of the
individual self.
We need to improve
our weaknesses to
develop our self-
concept.
Limitations are
hindrances to a
successful life.
The actual self is
how we think but
not actually we
are.
The self who is
afraid to face its
reality is the ideal
self
Self-concept is
conceived only when
there is an
understanding of
oneself.
The ideal self
believes in self-
growth and integral
development.
